Avalon
What is Avalon?
Avalon works towards a sustainable countryside in Middle and Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and beyond. This has very good results: conservation and recovery of valuable nature and landscapes, a dynamic countryside economy that provides its inhabitants with a better living and a wide range of tasteful sustainable and organic products for consumers.
What does Avalon do?
To realise these goals, Avalon cooperates with local partner organisations on projects related to organic farming and agricultural nature conservation. Avalon helps the realisation of policy and regulations, works on capacity building of local organisations, the development of local markets, and helps to build and spread knowledge. Besides this, Avalon supports an extended network of international organisations, committed to a sustainable country side, organic farming and nature conservation.
Why is Avalon a member of IUCN?
Avalon recognizes itself in the goals of IUCN and works in a related field. Avalon works where agriculture and nature conservation meet, and in the discussions on biodiversity they see that sustainable faming with an economic goal can attribute to biodiversity.
