World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA)
The World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA) promotes the establishment and effective management of a worldwide representative network of terrestrial and marine protected areas.
The WCPA is the world's premier network of protected area expertise. It is administered by IUCN's ‘Programme on Protected Areas’ and has over 1,400 members, spanning 140 countries. The WCPA is one of the organs of IUCN that advise the World Heritage Committee on natural World Heritage sites.
Mission
