Logo Bossenoverleg LandingspaginaThe Dutch Forum on Forests is a periodic meeting of professionals and individuals who are active in the fields of policy, research, management and conservation with regard to forests outside the Netherlands. The workinggroup meets three or four times a year.

Goals:

  • Promoting the dialogue, advice and information exchange on Dutch forest policy abroad to respond adequately to urgent forest conservation and sustainable forest management matters;
  • Strengthening and encouraging concrete initiatives for the benefit of forest management and conservation in tropical, subtropical, temperate and boreal areas by means of effective networking and cooperation in the Netherlands;
  • Providing information and coordination on the content of the activities of those involved to prevent overlap and enhance common goals;
  • Providing information on international developments (such as the UN Forum on Forests, UNFCCC, FLEGT, the Biodiversity Convention and the IUCN Forest Conservation programme);
  • Consolidating and further developing the political basis in the Netherlands for the support of forest conservation and sustainable use of forests.
