How to attract funding for your environmental or development project? For the second year, the Green Finance Academy offers a five day masterclass to prepare environmental and development professionals for this task. The masterclass helps participants to transform their projects into bankable projects that generate financial returns for investors.

The Green Finance Academy is an initiative of IUCN NL, Wageningen Environmental Research and Nyenrode Business University. Gerhard Mulder, senior expert Green Economy at IUCN NL: “Last year's masterclass was hugely successful and delivered some great results. For example, thanks to the skills acquired at the Green Finance Academy, the Ghanaian NGO A Rocha succeeded in closing a partnership with FORM Investments. They now finance a reforestation project that also invests in the sustainable production of shea butter.”

The five day masterclass offered by the Academy consists of interactive sessions with experts from both science and business. The sessions will deal with topics such as business development, marketing, private sector finance and economic valuation of ecosystem services.

The masterclass, to be held 6-10 March 2017, is now open for registration. The venue of the masterclass will be Nyenrode Business Universiteit and Wageningen University & Research. The tuition fee is € 3.995,- per person (incl. VAT). Every second person from an organisation gets a 50% discount on the tuition fee. The fee includes course fees, firelight sessions, accommodation, catering, and a cultural event. Discounted rates are possible in some cases. Space is limited to 25 participants, so register soon.
