IUCN NL has been a partner of the Postcode Lottery<\/a> since 2001 and receives an annual contribution, which it is free to spend on its mission, amounting to \u20ac1.000,000. IUCN NL has used this support since 2001, to manage the Land Acquisition Fund<\/a>, among others. The contribution is also used to fund our activities for the platform of Dutch IUCN member organisations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

In addition to the annual contribution, IUCN NL regularly receives additional project funding. For example, thanks to the Postcode Lottery, we have been working on Nature\u2019s Heartbeat<\/a> since 2025, and in 2026 we launched \u2018Samen voor een bloeiend Nederland<\/a>\u2019 (Together for a thriving Netherlands).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

IUCN NL has a long history of cooperation with the Dutch government, in particular with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Nature. During 2021-2025, IUCN NL is part of Forests for a Just Future , a strategic partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

For example, we have contributed to the sustainable and inclusive management of tropical forests through the Forests for a Just Future<\/a> of the Green Livelihoods Alliance. With Mobilising More for Climate<\/a> (MoMo4C), we have mobilised funding for businesses that contribute to biodiverse, climate-resilient landscapes in six countries in Africa and Asia.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

In addition, we have been receiving shorter-term funding from ministries and embassies for projects and assignments.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

IUCN NL receives several project grants from the European Union. For example, together with our REWET<\/a> partners, we are mapping the potential of wetlands for the sustainable restoration and conservation of these important ecosystems. Through the AGeReB<\/a> project, we are working on the sustainable management and financing of the Mono Biosphere Reserve in Benin. And financed by the EU LIFE programme, we coordinate BESTLIFE2030<\/a>, a fund for nature conservation and restoration in the European Union\u2019s overseas territories.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

De Groene 11 (Green 11) is a public affairs partnership comprising various nature and environmental organisations. The Groene 11 office advises these organisations on advocacy work in the Netherlands and facilitates cooperation between the member organisations. The following organisations are members of De Groene 11: Greenpeace, IUCN NL, IVN, LandschappenNL, Milieudefensie, Natuur & Milieu, Natuur en Milieufederaties, Natuurmonumenten, SoortenNL, Stichting De Noordzee, Stichting Rechten van de Natuur, Vogelbescherming Nederland, Waddenvereniging, and the World Wildlife Fund.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

IUCN NL is a member of Partos, the Dutch membership body for organisations working on international solidarity. Through defending the interests of its members, in the field of advocacy, communication and innovation, Partos helps members to successfully work towards creating a just, fair and sustainable world for everyone. As a partner of the Deltaplan for Restoring Biodiversity (Deltaplan Biodiversiteitsherstel) we work to make the Netherlands a country in which people and nature can flourish.
