Sander van Andel is Senior Expert Nature Conservation at IUCN NL. Sander has an academic background in ecology and natural resource management.

Sander has led international programmes in more than 16 countries in Africa, South America and Asia to safeguard ecosystems and the services they provide. In these countries, he has worked with a wide range of civil society organisations to find solutions that balance ecological, economic and social interests with the interests of governments, the private sector and local communities.
