IUCN NL welcomes new member organisations Future For Nature, SNV and Union of Nature Foundation

IUCN NL has recently welcomed three new organisations as members: Future For Nature (FFN), SNV and the Union of Nature Foundation (UON). This brings the total number of Dutch IUCN member organisations to 40.

IUCN NL provides a platform for the Dutch IUCN member organisations, including many nature and environmental organisations, as well as scientific institutes and the Dutch government. Liliana Jauregui, Director of IUCN NL, says, ‘I am delighted to welcome our new members to the IUCN family. They strengthen the network of organisations working to protect nature worldwide. Together, we can increase our impact and exchange valuable knowledge and experience.’

About the new member organisations

Future For Nature (FFN)

Future For Nature is a Dutch organisation that supports young, talented and driven conservationists worldwide in their fight for wildlife conservation. Each year, the organisation selects three young individuals (under the age of 35) who are making a difference for the future of nature.

These winners receive the Future For Nature Award and a cash prize to continue and expand their work. This international recognition is important for the visibility of their story, access to important networks and funds, and it inspires others with their efforts and impact.

SNV

SNV is an international development organisation working in more than 20 countries in Africa and Asia. The organisation is committed to a world where everyone has equal opportunities to grow sustainably. To achieve this, SNV supports sustainable and inclusive development, with a focus on agri-food, water and energy. They strengthen local communities with practical and innovative solutions to challenges such as poverty and climate change. Their results-oriented approach focuses on structural, sustainable improvements.

The Union of Nature Foundation (UON)

The Union of Nature Foundation (UON) is an international foundation that works with nature organisations worldwide to accelerate and enable nature conservation on a larger scale.

UON is a non-profit organisation with a unique business model that promotes sustainable conservation. Through a digital certificate of protection, people and companies can make officially registered contributions to nature conservation. UON’s goal is therefore to enable the private sector to contribute to protecting 50% of our planet. This business model provides an additional source of income for conservationists who are on the front lines.
