Our strength lies in our network. Every day IUCN NL works to bring partner organizations together, both in the Netherlands and abroad. By joining forces we are able to reach our goals.
IUCN NL collaborates with about 200 local nature organizations in somewhat 30 countries in Asia, South America and Africa. IUCN NL has a coordinating role, ensuring all parties collaborate as well as they can to achieve sustainable nature conservation policies that contribute to a better life for the local population.
As policy-makers, governments fulfil an essential role in achieving IUCN NL objectives. We support an integrated approach as much as possible with particularly the Dutch Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Economic Affairs.
Companies & investors
Companies have a major impact worldwide on our natural capital: ecosystems and biodiversity. IUCN NL stimulates companies to make their business processes more sustainable and contributes to finding practical solutions for preserving ecosystems and biodiversity.
IUCN has an extensive international network of more than 15,000 scientists specialised in various fields, divided into six scientific commissions. These volunteer experts assess the state of the world’s natural resources and provide the Union with sound know-how and policy advice on conservation issues.
Dutch member organizations
IUCN currently has 37 Netherlands-based member organizations. Our members range from nature and environment organizations and scientific institutes to the Dutch government. Joint interests are identified and discussed in our Participants Meeting which is held three times a year.
