Nature’s Heartbeat works towards a world where grassroots conservationists are at the heart of global conservation. Across seven countries, we support around 50 conservation leaders and their organisations to protect vital Key Biodiversity Areas through trust-based funding, long-term partnerships and locally-led action for nature that creates lasting change for nature and communities.
On the new Nature’s Heartbeat website, you can learn about the people, organisations and landscapes behind the programme. Find information on the 12 landscapes where local conservationists are working to protect vital biodiversity, read more about our trust-based approach to conservation, and see what locally led action can achieve for nature and communities. Find out how you can contribute to Nature’s Heartbeat and join a growing movement for locally-led conservation.
The launch of the Nature’s Heartbeat website is just the beginning. Over the coming months, we will be sharing more stories and updates from the landscapes, bringing you closer to the people and organisations at the heart of conservation.

The Nature’s Heartbeat programme works in a consortium consisting of Armonia Bolivia, A Rocha Ghana, Ecotrust, The Alliance for Tompotika Conservation (ALTo), KKI WARSI, NATIVA, NTFP-EP, Saamaka Oto(VSG), Strong Roots Congo, and IUCN NL. The programme is funded by Postcode Loterij.
