Green Livelihoods Alliance
The Green Livelihoods Alliance is a strategic partnership between IUCN NL, Milieudefensie, Tropenbos International and the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During this 5-year partnership, we work closely with civil society organizations and communities in amongst others DR Congo, Bolivia and Indonesia to bring about inclusive and sustainable governance of forested landscapes.
Forested landscapes form the cornerstone of the livelihoods of about 1.2 billion people. They provide clean water, fertile soil for food production and are pivotal for a stable climate. By facilitating multi-stakeholder dialogues between civil society, companies and governments, we aim to improve policies and practices to protect forested landscapes. The Green Livelihoods Alliance is one of the 25 strategic partnerships in the policy framework ‘Dialogue and Dissent’ of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
